Bubbles & Bingo: Creative Ways to Crush Your Milestones

Picture this: It’s the end of the year, and instead of a pile of abandoned resolutions and half-finished journals, you have a fridge full of empty champagne bottles and a Bingo card that’s been crushed with the giddy satisfaction of accomplishment. Welcome to the world of bubbles and bingo —where motivation meets celebration in the most fun and fabulous way possible.

Everybody knows there are a ton of ways you can go about making goals for yourself. A simple search on Pinterest will yield an unfathomable amount of suggestions. I’ve tried it multiple ways (and written about one option here) and personally, I find that I like doing it a few ways at a time.

Let’s dive into the bubbles and bingos, shall we?

Champagne Goals: Pop, Sip, Celebrate

Here’s the premise: You write your goals directly on a bottle of champagne (or your celebratory beverage of choice). Keep that bottle chilling in the fridge as a constant visual reminder, then pop it when you’ve achieved the goal. It’s part accountability, part motivation, and all celebratory vibes.

Tips for Setting Champagne Goals:

  1. Write It in Sharpie: Grab a marker and scrawl your goal right on the glass. It doesn’t need to be fancy; just something legible enough to survive condensation.(Or make a tag if you want to be fancy!)
  2. Keep It Visible: Every time you open the fridge, your goal is staring back at you, daring you to make it happen. (It’s like motivational Post-Its but classier.)
  3. Splurge a Little: Opt for a bottle that feels special. Maybe it’s a spendy champagne or that artisanal cider you’ve been eyeing. The nicer the bottle, the sweeter the victory.
  4. Pair Your Goals With Milestones: Want to run a half marathon? Write it on the bottle. Launch that side hustle? Bottle-worthy. Bonus points for including a mix of big, life-changing goals and smaller ones—because every win is worth celebrating.
  5. Make It a Habit: As the year goes on, don’t be afraid to add more bottles to your collection. Who says you can only achieve goals set in January?

And when you finally get to pop that cork? Pour a glass, savor the moment, and maybe even keep the cork as a memento. (Yes, you’re sentimental. Embrace it.)

In case you’re interested, my current champagne goals include getting my Certified Government Meeting Planner (CGMP) designation, publishing 60 articles in 2025 (combo of online and in print), reading/listening to the Bible and finishing it in a year and doing something extremely brave (as yet undefined but I’ll know it when I do it).

Goal Bingo: Because Who Doesn’t Love a Game?

Now, let’s level up the goal-setting fun with Goal Bingo. The idea is simple: Create a Bingo card with 24 goals (plus a free space for when you’re feeling fabulous). Then, as you crush those goals, cross them off. Bonus points for rewards when you hit a Bingo!

How to Build Your Goal Bingo Card:

  1. Start Brainstorming:
    • 10 Easy Goals: Think low-effort tasks you can knock out quickly. Examples: Drink eight glasses of water for five days straight, declutter your desk, or take a 30-minute walk.
    • 9 Medium Goals: These require a little more time or effort. Examples: Complete a 30-day fitness challenge, read three books, or stick to a budget for one month.
    • 5 Hard Goals: These are the big ones. Examples: Save $5,000 for a trip, complete a certification course, or run a marathon.
  2. Mix It Up: Balance your card with short-term, long-term, and just-for-fun goals. Sprinkle in free or budget-friendly ones to keep it accessible. Toss in some personal and career goals to make for a well-rounded year.
  3. Make It Cute: Design your card—either digitally or old-school pen and paper. Use colors, stickers, glitter, whatever gets you excited to fill in those squares.
  4. Reward Yourself: For every Bingo you hit, treat yourself to something fun. It could be a small splurge like a fancy coffee, a new book, a spa treatment or even—yes—another bottle of champagne to start a new goal.

Why This Works:

  • It’s Visual: Whether it’s a bottle in your fridge or a Bingo card on your wall, these methods keep your goals front and center. (Mine is on my wall right in front of my desk.)
  • It’s Fun: Let’s be real, traditional goal-setting can be a snoozefest.
  • It’s Flexible: You can add goals, swap them out, or adjust as you go. Life changes, and so can your game plan.
  • It’s Rewarding: Celebrating your wins, big or small, reinforces the joy of progress—and that’s what keeps you going.

My current bingo card (which I created on Canva) contains things that range from reading goals (10 fiction and 10 non-fiction books) to hosting a blog event, one month with 10,000 or more steps, a new piercing or tattoo, a day trip with my kiddos and giving 15 or more LinkedIn recommendations.

Your Year, Your Rules: Setting goals doesn’t have to feel like a chore. Whether you’re popping bottles or crossing off squares, the key is to make the process enjoyable and motivating. So grab your Sharpie, pour yourself a glass, and get ready to toast to a year full of wins. Cheers to you, goal-getter!
