Homemade Crusty Bread

Lately, I’ve found myself wanting to try my hand at some of the forgotten homemade staples of decades past. Not to replace anything store bought (who has time for that—not me!), but rather as a treat, or a fun cooking project. Like cheeses. And pastas. And bread. Truth be told, I had a bread maker a few years ago. I LOVED that bread maker. I made loaf after loaf of Italian bread, hearty molasses bread, and other gluten-filled treasures. My sister and I would bake whole loaves, simply to have fresh-out-of-the-oven, warm bread with salted butter to gorge on during…

Homemade Bath Bombs!

Every now and again it’s nice to take an hour all to myself at the end of a long, busy day. Sometimes that “me time” involves catching the latest episode of Game of Thrones or Downton Abbey, other times it’s grabbing a few homemade bath bombs and taking a relaxing, steamy soak in the tub while listening to a favorite podcast. Baths are so relaxing! Warm water, steamy air, alone time, a glass of wine…does it get any better than that? Well, yes. It can. I’m not a big fan of bubble bath because I find all those suds irritating. It’s…

Turkey Meatloaf!

Of all the things we ate for dinner growing up, meatloaf wasn’t one of them. I’m not sure how that happened, really, because we ate burgers, meatballs, and other “ground meat” dinners on a regular basis. Maybe I had it a time or two at a friend’s house? I can’t remember. My first memory of meatloaf was at college. IN. THE. DINING. HALL. Before you get all squirmy, I’ll say this: I loved that dining hall meatloaf. Meatloaf is one of those foods that can easily, and sensibly, be mass produced. So, it works well for a cafeteria-type situation.…

What We Love: October 2015

October flew by, didn’t it? With nary a blink we found ourselves in a post-Halloween sugar coma wondering where all of our time went. October was a huge month for the Pursuit team ushering in new opportunities and lots of chances to discover new things and make memories with the people we love. So without further ado, here are the things we were loving this October! Amanda Fall is a crazy busy time for me. In addition to being a blogger boss, I spend some of my time as a photographer. Mostly families, lots of newborn babies, happy moments and smiling people…
