Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Review

This weekend we enjoyed some lovely spring weather, the Easter holiday, and Batman v Superman! You guys know how I feel about superhero movies — So. My. Jam. But, before we talk all of the things here, let me back it up a bit. Personally, when it comes to super heroes, I am so Team Marvel over Team DC. The Marvel heroes and their stories are more compelling to me. And they have Chris Hemsworth (Thor). He could be a bad guy and I’d still totally root for him and his man bun. That being said, Superman has always been one of my…

Okay, friends! The weather has officially broken and it’s time to emerge from our self-imposed winter hibernation. The sun is warm during the day, birds are chirping, mornings and evenings still have a chill… Spring is the perfect time to get those running miles in, and what better way to stay in shape than participate in a few good challenges! And, if you’re anything like me, then you’re busy looking for some cool races near Washington D.C. or Baltimore to run over the next few months. The ones I have my eye on are no ordinary races, of course. Where’s the awesome…

3 Things To Think About Before Your Next Volunteer Role

My hometown of Frederick, Md., is a special community. Not only is it a vibrant mix of culture and history, it’s also filled with some of the most generous and kind souls I’ve ever encountered. It’s a community that thrives due in large part to the caring individuals who donate their time, talents and treasures to their favorite causes. I’ve had the pleasure of volunteering in a number of different roles: planning events, leading cub scout dens, participating as a working not-for-profit board member, assisting youth soccer, and writing public relations materials for organizations I admire. Some might call me a…

5 Fashion Week Styles For Real Life

Every year during New York Fashion Week I sit at home and flip through magazines and websites scowling at the photos. Rarely is there ever anything appropriate for people with a normal lives consisting of working at a desk, shopping at a grocery store, going to their kids’ schools for meetings and events, and to…like…drop off the lunch they left sitting on the counter. Again. Not to mention the price. I don’t know about you, but the car I drive doesn’t cost as much as some of the items I’ve seen models strutting down the cat walk in. But, I do…

Orecchiette With Pistachios - a great flavor combo, enhanced with heaps of Parmesan. Yum!

So, I’m cruising along my Pinterest feed the other day and I stumbled upon a recipe for orecchiette pasta. A pasta recipe with this main ingredient: pistachio nuts. Now lemme tell you. I can barrel through a bag of salted pistachio nuts — shells on — in less time than it would take the average person to do, well, almost anything. They’re goooooood. The thought of marrying pistachios with pasta seemed both odd and divine. I mean, nuts and noodles aren’t an unfamiliar flavor combo. One of my favorite Asian dishes is noodles with peanut sauce and heaps of crushed peanuts! But I’m typically…
