Year round I work from home. I am a professional blogger and a photographer so my home base is also my actual home base. Most of the time that is awesome. I work in my jammies and I watch Fantasy Island while I write. I did have to spend a month going to the chiropractor to get my back in alignment because my couch isn’t an ergonomically correct place to work from. But whatever. Worth it. The one time when I lament not having to wear a bra and grown up lady shoes to an office that I commute…

YOU GUYS. I’m so excited to be able to share news about a project that is near and dear to my heart! The Frederick Speaker Series is a project that I’m proud to have been a part of over past year. I originally got involved through sponsorship via my work and eventually jumped on board to help with the marketing efforts. If you’d have told me five years ago that I’d be a dance mom, I’d have given you side-eyes with a firm, “You’ve got to be kidding me.” It’s funny how unexpected things end up happening in life. I’ve learned something over the past five years about dance moms, dance studios, and dance companies. The biggest lesson being this:…

Only a few weeks left until school starts again and the leaves start to turn, so cherish it! And in the meantime, check out July’s What We Love: Amanda I spent one awesome filled weekend in NYC this month and I could fill this whole entire post with funky…

one minute rule

It’s a tidbit I picked up from author Gretchen Rubin (I’m a superfan!) called the “one minute rule.” Essentially, the rule is that anything that can be done in a minute’s time, should be done now. (Yes, RIGHT NOW.) That means no postponing until later. Whether it’s putting your keys away, turning off the light, picking up your shoes, etc. Just do it. Otherwise, all of these little tasks…
