Easy Strawberry Cobbler!

The strawberries in our garden are producing a couple pints of ripe berries a day right now. And if the dozens of photos in my News Feed are any indication, local “pick your own” farms are yielding a similar robust crop of strawberries this season! Seriously, I just saw a photo where one friend pick 13 pounds of strawberries in 20 minutes. That’s a lot of strawberries. Whether it’s because of a CSA delivery, a garden that’s gone crazy, or spectacular deal at the farmers’ market, having an abundance of any type of produce can be overwhelming. Especially with…

It’s week two of the Pursuit of it All month long spoil-our-readers-into-submission spree. Last week we gave away a Downtown Frederick Gift Card and this week we’re setting the stage for major relaxation thanks to a little something we received from Whiskey Bottom Candle Company. We’re talking shut the door, dim the lights, bubble bath, wine and candles, relaxation. You’re welcome. This week we’re giving away Whiskey Bottom Candles! The Pursuit gals are gaga over the Whiskey Bottom Candle Company hand-poured soy candles. Made from recycled wine and whiskey bottles (collected from local businesses), they’re environmentally friendly, uber-unique and truly delicious. Like,…

The Scarlet Letter Society Visits Frederick, MD!

Did you know that Downtown Frederick is the setting for a steamy 50 Shades-ish type of novel? Surprised? So was I. The book in question is called The Scarlet Letter Society and it centers around three women who live in Keytown (ahem) and gather together each month to discuss love, life, literature and their infidelities. Right?! The author of that naughty little ditty is Mary McCarthy, former Fredericktonian, lifelong writer/editor, professional blogger and friend to some of the Pursuit gals. Mary visited Frederick on her book tour and held a book signing at Curious Iguana, this girl’s favorite independent bookstore in the…

Basil Tomato Fettuccine: A Super Easy Weeknight Meal!

Cooking dinner shouldn’t be a drag. I’ll say this though, it can be hard to embrace a chef’s knife and a skillet after a 10-hour work day, followed by being a kid shuttle service, and knowing there’s a looming pile of laundry in a mound on the bathroom floor the hamper. I get it. I do. I’m also one to look at the glass half full. To make lemons out of lemonade. I don’t have to cook dinner. I get to cook dinner. See how that works? But that doesn’t mean that every night I’m pulling off a five course meal. (Okay, let’s be…

How To Choose A Bathing Suit

The pool is officially open! Which means, summer has officially started. It’s an event that, as a kid, you probably looked forward to more than many others. As an adult, eh, maybe not so much. I can count on one hand the number of grown-up women I know who get excited about bathing suit shopping. Because not only is it time consuming and expensive, it generally brings us to the realization that, even though magazines and websites have been telling us to do so for months, we’ve still not gotten bikini ready for this season. Or any in the…
